PROFESSORS AND ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN ON CONTRACTUAL BASIS
Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the following contractual
positions at Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi with the qualifications,
emoluments, etc., as specified below
Name of the post : Assistant Professor (Contractual)
Department : Fish Pathology and Health Management
Essential Qualification : M.F.Sc. (or) M.F.Sc. with NET
Preferred qualification : Ph.D. (or) Ph.D. with NET
Experience : Well experience in Teaching, Research and
Extension in the subject of Fish Pathology and
Health Management
Key responsibilities : To handle the classes for UG & PG,
conduct the practical classes and assisting the
research and extension activities of the
department.
Monthly emoluments :
1) M.F.Sc. only – Rs.28,000/-PM
2) M.F.Sc. with NET – Rs.33,000/-PM
3) M.F.Sc. with Ph.D.- Rs.38,000/-PM
Name of the post : Assistant Professor – Statistics (Contractual)
Department : Fisheries Extension, Economics and Statistics
Essential Qualification : Ph.D. (Statistics / Agri. Statistics)
with / without NET
Experience : Well experience in Teaching, Research and
Extension in the subject of Statistics
Key responsibilities : 1) To handle the classes for UG & PG.
2) To assist the research scholars in analyzing
and interpreting data.
3) To assist in the department works as well as
in the preparation of reports which involve
statistical interpretation.
Monthly emoluments : 1) M.Sc. only – Rs.25,000/-PM
2) M.Sc. with NET – Rs.30,000/-PM
3) M.Sc. with Ph.D. – Rs.35,000/-PM
Name of the post : Assistant Librarian (Contractual)
Department : Department of Library
Essential Qualification : First Class in Master’s Degree in Library
Science / Information Science / Documentation
Science and PGDCA Library Automation with NET
Preferred qualification : Ph.D. with / without NET
Experience : Minimum 5 years experience in an academic
library of reputed university / institute
Key responsibilities : 1) Managing Library in a computerized environment
with experience in innovative applications of ICT in
library operations / services
2) Managing e-resources including e-journals,
e-books, etc.
3) To maintain online data entry (Library management
system – KOHA)
Monthly emoluments : Rs.25,000/-
