Essential Qualification : Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science or Graduate/Post
Graduate degree in professional course selected through a
process described through any one of the following:
a) Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests
– CSIR-UGC, NET, including lectureship (Assistant
Professorship) and GATE.
b) The selection process through National level examinations
conducted by Central Government Departments and their
agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS,
DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc.
Desirable Qualification
and Experience
Preferences will be given candidate who has experience in
Molecular Biology, Virology, Immunology and bioinformatics
including next generation sequencing analysis.
Remuneration Rs. 31,000/- per month and 27 % HRA
Totally Rs. 39,370/- per month
Age Limit 28 years (Relaxable up to five years for SC/ST/PH/VH and
female candidates, three years for OBC).
Nature of Duty :
1. Since the rabies virus is a zoonotic and its belongs to
Risk Group III and Biosafety level III organism, the
candidate must undergo complete course of rabies
vaccination before entering into Rabies Diagnosis
Laboratory
Screening of rabies suspected cases by DFAT and
molecular methods (PCR, real time PCR etc.)
Characterization of street rabies virus from different
geographical region and different species of animals by
next generation sequencing analysis
Development of Isothermal amplifications system for
detection of rabies virus
Development of microneedle based vaccine delivery
system in dogs
Any other job assigned by PI
Duration Initially for the period of one year and may be extended on
satisfactory performance and continuation of the project

Desirable Qualification and Experience
Experience in assisting post mortem sample collection
from suspected cases in animals, washing of
glasswares / general cleaning and maintenance of
laboratory equipments, handling of animals for animal trials
Remuneration Rs. 15,800/- per month
Age Limit : 25 years

Perform all the activities in the field and post mortem rabies sample collection
Undertake field visits for rabies suspected cases sample

Assisting to the PI/Junior research fellow at field and
training in the vaccine delivery system and other
preparatory activities of the project
Office activities related to the project including materials
processing, stock entry, NABL accreditation activities
etc
Any other job assigned by PI

Instructions to the candidates
The dean/Selection committee has the right to accept / reject any application
without assigning any reason thereof. Selection will be made as per the norms
of ASRR, TANUVAS.
The eligible candidates will be called for written test and interview by mail /
phone and are requested to bring the original filled in application with one set
of photocopy of qualification and experience and other testimonials (support
of age, qualifications, Publications, awards, training / seminar attended and
experience certificate).
Candidate should submit all certificates/testimonials in original for verification.
Candidates who fail to bring the original certificates for written test/ interview
will not be considered.
The above said post is purely contractual for the duration offered. The
appointment may be renewed after every specific period of time subject to
satisfactory performance and project requirement.
The candidates selected cannot claim for regular appointments under
TANUVAS
Age relaxation is admissible as per government guidelines
Experience certificate should clearly indicate the nature of the duty during the
period of employment. Appointment order, pay slip and offer of appointment
will not be accepted in place of experience certificate. Experience certificate
should contain salary per month and duration.
Working personnel are requested to attend the interview with no objection
letter from the present employer
No TA and DA will be provided for attending the written test/interview.
The written exam would be for one hour duration with multiple choice
questions followed by interview
The dean, Faculty of Basic Sciences, Madras Veterinary College Campus,
TANUVAS reserves the rights to cancel the recruitment or re-advertise the
posts, without assigning any reason thereof, no further correspondence will be
entertained in this regard.
Canvassing and bringing pressure in any form for short listing, interview and
employment will be a disqualification and the candidate will be barred from
selection process.
The selected candidate must provide the physical fitness certificate from a
Medical Officer in the rank of Civil Surgeon.
As per ICMR letter No. 16/107/2008 (2021) – Admin II dated 31.08.2021 the
nomenclature, emoluments and other terms and conditions will be applicable.
