APPLICATIONS INVITED FOR THE POST OF SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW
FOR THE ICAR NASF PROJECT AT TANUVAS
Applications are invited for filling up of one temporary post of Senior Research Fellow to work in the
“ICAR NASF Project on Artificial Intelligence & IoT based Smart Vet Ecosystem for Animal Health, Patient care
& Precision Farming” being in operation at the Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine, Madras Veterinary
College, Chennai – 600 007. The posts are purely temporary for about two years and nine months or more, from
the date of recruitment or till the completion of the project whichever is earlier. The qualifications and
remuneration are as follows.
Contractual Staff -Senior Research Fellow(SRF)- 1 No
Rs.31,000/- plus HRA for 1st and 2nd year and Rs.35,000/- plus HRA for 3rd year (HRA-27%) (Total: Rs.39,370/month for 1 & 2nd year & Rs.44,450/month for 3rd year) All are subject to changes as per ICAR & University norms
Master’s Degree with either
4 years Bachelor – BE/BTech or similar
OR
5 years of Bachelor’s Degree (BVSc or
similar 5 year course OR
Post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3
years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s
degree along with NET qualifications and 2
years of research experience as mentioned in
OM No. Edn./ 6127/ 20l4/ HRD dated 13th July,
2015, OM No. Agril. Edn. 6/27/2014-HRD 9th October, 2015 of the Council and OM SR/S9/Z09/2018 of DST dated 30th January, 2019.
The House Rent (HRA) will be given as per existing central government rates applicable in various
cities/locations where the SRF is working in ICAR
Income tax may be deducted at source from the emoluments of SRFs working in various schemes of
ICAR as per rules

Qualified and interested candidates may apply (by e-mail and in print formats) to the undersigned on or
before 23.03.2023 and shortlisted candidates will appear for a written examination followed by an interview
tentatively on 27.03.2023 at 10.00 am to be held at the Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine, Madras
Veterinary college, Chennai – 600 007.
No TA/DA will be paid for the candidates preferring to attend the interview. Candidates are informed to
make own arrangements for their stay for attending interview.
Mere application for attending the interview does not guarantee the appointment and the selection will be
based purely on merit basis. Candidates are requested to produce all original certificates (degree certificate,
proof of age and experience. Publications and other testimonials that certify their competency to work in
the project) at the time of interview. Experience with Electronic Medical Records Development is desirable.
The candidate should also have knowledge to speak, read and write Tamil.
The selection of candidates will be purely based on their educational qualifications, work experience etc.
The appointment is made purely on temporary basis with a condition to terminate the appointment without
giving any prior notice and the candidates should not claim any university service
Job Description – Senior Research Fellow:
An enthusiastic, highly motivated and organized manpower/worker is required to join a about two years and
nine months or more project with a focus on undertaking works, development of technology and tools in the
field of Artificial Intelligence & IoT and Development of Smart Vet Ecosystem for Animal Health, Patient care
& Precision Farming.
Works includes, supporting EMR/EVM Development Works, Apps Development and Deployment, Validation,
filed studies, Supports to Clinical Assessments, Laboratory Assessments, Telemedicine Support & Remotes
Assessments, need based interventions, adaptive R&D applicable for the project, technology development
and transfer are some of the nature of works and responsibilities involved in this project. The work spectrum
may cover a wide area to achieve the project goals.
The selected candidate shall be able to independently undertake EMR/EVR, IoT and AI based Veterinary
Investigations, Clinical Consultancy, Service Delivery Development, Training & Re-Training, Evaluations and
Field Activities involving various animals and their clients/farmers.
Excellent communication skills, Publication Skills, Smart Media Management Skills and ability to co-ordinate
with relevant agencies and establishments is essential.
