Tamil Nadu Medical Service:
Note:
I. The Notification issued vide Notification No.
02/MRB/2020, Dated: 22.05.2020 for the post of
Assistant Surgeon (General) stands withdrawn.
Candidates who have already applied as per Notification
No. 02/MRB/2020, Dated: 22.05.2020 have to apply once
again as per this fresh Notification.
II. Candidates who have paid the examination fee need not
pay the examination fee once again and requested to
furnish the already payment paid details in the Fee
details column besides furnishing the earlier application
number.
Assistant Surgeon (General) : 1021 Posts
SCALE OF PAY (in Rs.): Level-22 Rs.56100-177500
AGE (as on 01.07.2022) :
SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBC&DCs, BCs, BCMs (including Ex-Servicemen belonging to
these communities) : 59 Years as on 01.07.2022
(i) Others *37 Years as on 01.07.2022
(ii) Differently Abled Candidate to “Others” *47 Years as on 01.07.2022
(iii) Ex-Servicemen Belonging to “Others” * 50 Years as on 01.07.2022
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
Candidates should possess the following or its equivalent qualification awarded by a
University or Institution recognised by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grants. The courses must have been approved by the Medical Council of India.
For Assistant Surgeon (General) – MBBS Degree
In addition to the above, the candidates
i. Must be a registered practitioner within the meaning of the Madras Medical
Registration Act, 1914.
ii. Must have served as House Surgeon (CRRI) for a period of not less than twelve
months.
iii. Candidates should have registered their name in the Tamil Nadu Medical Council on
or before the last date of this Notification. (Last date for submission of application i.e
25.10.2022)
iv. If a candidate claims that the educational qualification possessed by him/her
is equivalent though not the same as those prescribed for the appointment,
the onus of proof rests with the candidate.
PROCEDURE OF SELECTION:
Selection will be made based on the marks obtained in the written examination, and duly
following the rules of reservation and communal rotation of Government of Tamil Nadu.
