AGE LIMIT (as on 01.07.2021):
SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBC(V)s, MBCs and DNCs, MBCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs and Destitute
Widows of all categories : No Age limit
„Others‟ [i.e. candidates not belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBC(V)s, MBCs and DNCs, MBCs BC(OBCM)s and BCMs] : Should not have completed 34 years
Explanation: No maximum age limit shall mean that the applicants should not have completed 60 years of age either on the date of notification or at the time of selection /appointment to the post.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION (as on 25.08.2021)
i) Must possess B.L. degree,
ii) Must be a member of the Bar,
iii) Must possess adequate knowledge of Tamil and
iv) Experience: Must have had active practice in „criminal courts’ for a period of not less than five years.
FEES:
Registration Fee : Rs.150/-
Preliminary Examination Fee Rs.100/-
Main Written Examination Fee Rs.200/-
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Selection will be made in three successive stages viz., (i) Preliminary Examination
for selection of applicants for admission to the Main Written Examination (ii) Main
Written Examination and (iii) Oral Test in the shape of an interview. Final selection
will be made on the basis of the total marks obtained by the applicants in the main
written examination and oral test taken together subject to the rule of reservation of
appointments. Applicant‟s appearance in the main written examination and oral test
is compulsory. The applicant who has not appeared for any of the paper in the Main
Written Examination will not be considered for selection even if he/she secures the
minimum qualifying marks for selection.

Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli
CENTRE FOR MAIN EXAMINATION:-
Main Written Examination will be held at Chennai only.
