Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), a Joint Venture of Government of India and Government of Tamil
Nadu, is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) entrusted with the responsibility of implementing the Metro Rail
Project in the city of Chennai.
CMRL invites applications from qualified and experienced personnel for the appointment of
undermentioned posts on contract basis:-

Required Qualification and Experience:-
a. Post Code No. 01 – Deputy General Manager (Civil)
Must be a B. E / B. Tech (Civil) graduate from a Govt. recognized Institute / University approved
by AICTE / UGC. The incumbent should have minimum 13 years of post qualification experience
in execution of large infrastructure projects like constructions of major bridges / Highways /
Railways/ Metro Rail Projects. Out of the 13 years of experience, a minimum of 5 years of
experience shall be exclusively in Metro constructions. The incumbent should be familiar with
contract management related to large infrastructure projects. Should have knowledge & skill in
management of FIDIC conditions of contract, Quality Control & Assurance system in civil
construction, Safety Implementation and Program Monitoring.
Exposure in underground metro structures will be an added advantage.
b. Post Code No. 02 – Deputy General Manager (Ventilation & Air Conditioning and Tunnel
Ventilation System)
Must be a B. E / B. Tech ( Mechanical/Electrical) graduate from a Govt. recognized Institute /
University approved by AICTE / UGC. The incumbent should have minimum 13 years of post
qualification experience in project management of Tunnel Ventilation System (TVS) /Air
Conditioning Systems in large infrastructure projects, which shall include the following:-

  1. Review of Design verification and validation of documents.
  2. Review of Equipment / material technical submittals.
  3. Factory acceptance testing (FAT)
  4. Co-ordination with contractor for pending civil / structural works.
  5. Management of contractual matters such as Access dates, Key dates and Variation
    statements.
  6. Verification and certification of works.
  7. Interface management with various stakeholders.
  8. Review of Method statement for installation of Equipment / materials.
  9. Supervision of equipment installation, pre-commissioning, testing and commissioning
    activities of TVS/VAC Systems
  10. Experience in operations and maintenance of TVS/VAC systems

c. Post Code No. 03 – Manager / Deputy General Manager (Electrical & Mehanical)
Must be a B.E / B.Tech (EEE /ECE/Mech.) graduate from a Govt. recognized University / Institute,
approved by AICTE / UGC. The incumbentshould possess minimum 13 years of post qualification
experience for Deputy General Manager level & 7 years of post qualification experience for
manager level in the field of MEP / E&M: HT / LT Electrical Power Supply Systems, UPS
Systems, Earthing Systems, Lightning Arrestor, Fire deduction, Fire Alarm, Fire Protection
System, Plumbing Systems, BMS / SCADA Systems of their BIM / Design review, development,
interface management, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning in Railway projects /
Metro Rail projects or any large infrastructure project.
d. Post Code No. 04 – Manager / Deputy General Manager (Contract Management)
Must be a B.E/B.Tech (Civil) graduate from a Govt. recognized Institute / University approved by
AICTE / UGC. The incumbent should have minimum of 13 years of post-qualification experience
in Metro / Railways / Large infrastructure projects for Deputy General Manager level & 07 years
of post qualification experience in Metro / Railways / Large infrastructure projects for Manager
level. Out of total experience specified for the respective posts, the incumbent should have
minimum 7 years of experience in contract management for Deputy General Manager level and
minimum of 4 years of experience in contract management for Manager level. The contract
management experience shall include handling of extension of time, variation, dispute resolution
and claim management. Thorough knowledge of FIDIC conditions of contract is
essential.Experience in handling contract management of Government contracts, rate analysis and
working knowledge of M.S. Project / PRIMAVERA is preferable.
e. Post Code No. 05 – Manager (Contract Procurement)
Must be a B.E/B.Tech (Civil/Mech/ECE/EEE) graduate from a Govt. recognized Institute /
University approved by AICTE / UGC. The incumbent should have minimum of 07 years of postqualification experience in Metro/Railways/Large infrastructure projects. Out of the total
experience specified, the incumbent should have minimum of 4 years of experience in handling
contract procurement. This experience shall include tendering for works, and consultancy, service
and system contracts. Knowledge of e-procurement,GeM procurement, CVC guidelines, statutory
taxation/levies and drafting of tender and evaluation of bids are essential.
Experience and knowledge in Multinational Bank Procurement procedures, FIDIC conditions of
contract and Government contracting modalities are preferable.
f. Post Code No. 06 – Manager (Safety)
Must possess B.E / B.Tech or Diploma in Civil / Mechanical engineering from a Govt. recognized
University / Institute, approved by AICTE / UGC along with Diploma in Industrial Safety or
Certificate in OSHA / NEBOSH / Safety Management by IOSH. The degree holders should have
minimum 07 years of post qualification experience in relevant field and for diploma holders, the
incumbent should possess 11 years of total experience in relevant field (06 years of experience
post diploma and 5 years of experience post engineering degree)

Out of total experience specified above, the incumbentshould have minimum 5 years of experience
in handling Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) in major infrastructure works e.g. Metro
/Railways/ Airports/ Highways/ Large Industrial or commercial or residential building project
contracts.
Exposure in safety assessment/ audit of site works and construction equipment are essential.

g. Post Code No.07 – Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager / Manager (Electrical &
Mechanical)

Must be a B.E / B.Tech (EEE/ECE/Mech) graduate from a Govt. recognized University / Institute,
approved by AICTE / UGC. The incumbent should possess minimum 7 years post qualification
experience for Manger level, 04 years post qualification experience for Deputy Manager level and
2 years post qualification experience for Assistant Manager level in the field of MEP / E&M: HT
/ LT Electrical Power Supply Systems, UPS Systems, Earthing Systems, Lightning Arrestor, Fire

h. Post Code No. 08 – Deputy Manager / Manager (Architect)
Must be a B.Arch. graduate from a Govt. recognized University / Institute, approved by AICTE /
UGC. The incumbent should have minimum 7 years post qualification experience for Manager
level and 4 years post qualification experience for Deputy Manager level in Architecture design
for a large infrastructure project preferably in Metro Rail Projects/Railway.The incumbent should
also be Familiar with design aspects of life safety and fire safety requirement in design
implementations and material selection.
Experience shall be in design / construction of various elements of Architectural finishes for room
layout and station signages are essential.
Exposure in use of the design software like CADD, Photoshop, 3D Max, Revit or Equivalent
software etc is preferrable.
i. Post Code No. 09 – Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager (Civil)
Must be a B. E / B. Tech (Civil) graduate from a Govt. recognized University / Institute, approved
by AICTE / UGC. The incumbent should have minimum 4 years post qualification experience for
Deputy Manager level and minimum 2 years post qualification experience for Assistant Manager
level in execution of large Infrastructure projects like construction of major bridge / Highways /
Railways/ Metro Rail Projects.The incumbent should also be familiar with contract management
related to large infrastructure project with experience in Metro constructions / deep excavation
support systems are preferrable.
Exposure in Quality Control & Assurance system in civil construction, Safety Implementation,
Program Monitoring, IS / International Codes for construction of civil works are essential.

j. Post Code No. 10 – Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager (Design)
Must be a B.E / B. Tech (Civil) graduate from a Govt. recognized University / Institute, approved
by AICTE / UGC. Possession of M.E / M.Tech (Civil) is preferable. The incumbent should possess
minimum 4 years post qualification experience for Deputy Manager level and 2 years post
qualification experience for Assistant Manager level in design of viaducts, bridges, Metro
structures and multistoried buildings. The incumbent should also be familiar with the Standard
Indian & Euro Codes and Practices followed in India for Buildings and Bridges.
k. Post Code No. 11 (a) – Assistant Manager (Electronics)
Must be a B.E / B.Tech (Electronics or Electronics & Communication) graduate from a Govt.
recognized University / Institute, approved by AICTE / UGC. The incumbent should possess
minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in Installation, testing and commissioning
and/or maintenance of electronics / telecom system works in Metro Railways / LRT / MRTS /
Railways.Installation, commissioning of backbone OFC, copper or other cable,
Telecommunications equipment. Knowledge on LAN server/switches, digital /IP /analogue
Telephone exchanges, PA System, Access control, CCTV Surveillance, Display systems, wireless
transmission system are desirable.
l. Post Code No. 11 (b)- Assistant Manager (Electrical)
Must be a B.E / B.Tech (Electrical & Electronics) graduate from a Govt. recognized University /
Institute, approved by AICTE / UGC. The incumbent should possess minimum 2 years of postqualification experience in Electrical System in Tunnel Ventilation System (TVS) / Ventilation &
Air-conditioning System (VAS) / Electrical & Mechanical / large infrastructure projects.
m. Post Code No. 11 (c) – Assistant Manager (Mechanical)
Must be a B. E / B. Tech (Mechanical) graduate from a Govt. recognized University / Institute,
approved by AICTE / UGC. The incumbent should have minimum 02 years of post qualification
experience in execution of Tunnel Ventilation System / Air Conditioning Systems in large
infrastructure projects, which shall include the following:

Review of Equipment / material technical submittals.

Factory acceptance testing (FAT)

Interface management with various stakeholders.

Supervision of equipment installation, pre-commissioning, testing and commissioning
activities
n. Post Code No. 12 – Assistant Manager (Human Resource)
Must be a graduate in any discipline with MBA (HR) / MSW (HR)/ PGDBA (HR) from a Govt.
recognized University / Institute, approved by AICTE / UGC. The incumbent should possess
minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in handling establishment matters, recruitment,
General Administration,IR & Labour matters, training and development. The incumbent should
have worked in a large Govt / PSU / Private organization of repute.
2) Selection process:
The selection methodology comprises two-stage process, interview followed by medical examination. The
selection process will judge the candidate on different facets like knowledge, skills, comprehension,
attitude, aptitude, and physical fitness.

to be attached along with the application.
c. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates are therefore requested

b. Step by step procedure to apply online application
Step 1 – Candidate must register in CMRL Career portal by using a valid email id. The email id
registered in the portal will only be used for any further correspondences from CMRL.
Step 2 – A registration link will be sent to the registered email id. Therefore, candidates are
required to click the verify button to authenticate their email id. Upon verifying, the user will be
redirected again to the CMRL career page to log in and apply.

Step 3 – Candidates are required to fill all details in each section and make sure to upload the
requisite documents as per the specification, wherever applicable, in order to authenticate the
details mentioned in the application form.
c. After submitting the application form through online in CMRL careers website, candidates are
required to save & print the computer generated online application form, affix the latest passport
size photo and should send the HARD Copy of the application form along with
self-attested copies of educational qualification certificate, experience certificate, birth
certificate, community certificate and other supporting documents through the forwarding
authority to the below mentioned address on or before 25.05.2023.
