A walk-in interview for the position of PROJECT ASSOCIATE- I (One Post) under the
Central Silk Board, (Ministry of Textiles, Government of India), Bangalore funded
collaborative research project on “Evaluation and validation of nutritive and feeding value of
silkworm (Bombyx mori) pupae meal in broiler and layer chicken” is scheduled to be held on
25.10.2024 (Friday) at the Department of Animal Nutrition, Veterinary College and Research
Institute, Mohanur Road, Namakkal – 637 002. The duration of engagement is for ten
months. The essential and desirable qualifications, emoluments, age, responsibilities and
other details of the position are as provided below.
PROJECT ASSOCIATE- I – One post (Temporary)
Master’s Degree in Agricultural Sciences (M.Sc., in Agriculture /
Horticulture / Sericulture) or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or
Technology (B.E. / B.Tech.) in Life Sciences from a recognized
University or equivalent (as per the DST norms)
Desired / Preferred qualifications
- B.Tech., / M.Tech. in Poultry Production Technology
- M.Sc. / Ph.D. (Sericulture).
- Candidates qualified in National Eligibility Tests such as –
CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant
Professorship) or GATE or AICTE / ICAR- National Eligibility
Test etc. - Research experience in conducting biological experiments
/ research trials in poultry. - Proficiency in research data analysis / computer operations
i. Rs. 31,000/ + HRA to scholars who are selected through (a)
National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including
Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or AICTE /
ICAR NET etc. (or)
ii. Rs 25,000/-+ HRA for others who are do not fall under (i)
above
Not more than 35 years as on closing date of application.
Age relaxation is allowed up to 5 years for
SC/ST/PH/OBC/WOMEN candidates or as per the rules and
regulations in force

Road, Namakkal – 637 002, Tamil Nadu
Interested and eligible candidates may bring the filled-in application (with photo) along
with enclosures for the walk-in interview. Filled-in applications need not be sent in
advance.
Selection Procedure: The selection will be based on marks scored in the written test,
educational qualifications – both essential and desirable qualifications, research / work
experience, additional skills, recognitions, and performance in the interview. Applicants
should submit “No Objection Certificate’ if already employed. Candidates should ensure their
eligibility for the position before applying. Documentary evidence to be produced for all
claims made in the application form. Any request with respect to change of date / time of
interview will not be entertained.
Other terms and conditions
- The individuals have to give prior intimation of 30 days before discontinuing the job.
- The appointment is made purely on temporary basis and the individuals shouldn’t
claim any University service later. - The individual has to work on all Saturdays. However, they are eligible for leave on
Sundays and other holidays declared by the Government of Tamil Nadu / TANUVAS. - The decision of the Selection Committee in all matters relating to eligibility, work
experience, acceptance or rejection of application will be final and binding on the
candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained from any individual.
Original Certificates are to be produced for verification before joining the post. - After announcement of the results, the candidate should join the post immediately.
No extension of joining time will be allowed. If a candidate fails to join in stipulated
time, the next candidate in the merit list will be called for joining the post. - The individuals have to make own arrangements with respect to boarding and lodging
after joining the post. - The selected candidate should work on full time basis.
- A medical fitness certificate has to be produced at the time of joining the said post.
- A valid driving license for driving two-wheeler is must at the time of joining the said
post
