
Engagement of Technician Apprentice under Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 1973 for the year 2022-23
As per Notification of Board of Apprenticeship Training (Southern Region), BHEL provides
Apprenticeship Training to fresh Diploma Holders for one year under the provisions of the Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 1973.There is no obligation on the part of BHEL to offer employment or preference in employment to the Apprentices who are so trained or no obligation on the part of the apprentice to take up employment in the company.

the year 2022-23 is as below.

Registration in Government of India portal:
Candidates must be registered in MHRD NATS Portal (www.mhrdnats.gov.in) for Technician apprentices.
The candidates who have registered in NATS Portal and have got their BOAT Student Enrolment Number alone will be considered for the training.
Reservation: Out of the above training vacancies, 19%, 1%, 27%,10% and 4% are reserved for SC, ST, OBC (NCL), EWS and PwD candidates respectively.
Reservation for dependents of regular employees (Serving/Retired/Deceased) will be as per company rules.
Age limit: Minimum 18 and Maximum 27 years as on 01.08.2022.
Minimum Educational Qualification:
High School, Intermediate and Diploma in Engineering or Technology as a regular full time candidate in the last three years i.e. 2020, 2021 or 2022 granted by State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government/University will be eligible for applying in apprenticeship training in 2022.
Candidates should possess minimum Sixty Percentage (60%) marks in Diploma in Engineering or Technology, to be eligible for applying for apprenticeship training.
Candidates, who have completed their Diploma in Engineering or Technology through Distance Learning/Part Time/Correspondence/Sandwich courses shall not be considered for apprenticeship training in BHEL.
Reservation and Relaxation:
A relaxation of 5 years is admissible to SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC (NCL) candidates in the upper age-limit. In the case of PwD, a relaxation of 10 years is admissible in the upper age-limit.
Where there is vacancy identified for such category, SC, ST and PwD candidates with minimum 50% marks in Diploma in Engineering or Technology are eligible to apply for apprenticeship training.
Stipend payable: Rs 8000 per month (Consolidated) will be paid as stipend in the entire training duration.
How to Apply:
a) The candidates meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria may first register in Ministry of Education/GOl portal – www.mhrdnats.gov.in and note down their 16-digit unique apprenticeship registration number.
This 16-digit apprenticeship registration number is mandatorily required for submitting online application in BHEL portal.
b) After completing registration in www.mhrdnats.gov.in portal, the candidates may apply online in BHEL Trichy Portal in the link – https://trichy.bhel.com Apprenticeship Application Portal (THIRUMAYAM).
The candidates may refer the instructions listed under Annexure-1 for submitting the application.
c) Only Online mode of applications will be accepted.
d) Candidate needs to upload the following documents as per the size indicated in the portal:
Scanned copy of the latest colour photograph
Scanned copy of signature
Scanned copy of 10th Standard / SSLC mark sheet (which will also be considered for proof of date of birth)
Scanned copy of Consolidated mark sheet of prescribed educational qualification
Scanned copy of Community/OBC/EWS/PWD certificate
Scanned copy of aadhaar card
Scanned copy of Bank passbook front page as uploaded in the Govt. Portal (mhrdnats.gov.in) without fail.

e) Eligible candidates based on the marks secured in Diploma in Engineering or Technology shall be called for the assessment test. The assessment test will be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) on the Subject
of Study, General Knowledge and Aptitude. Selection shall be based on the marks secured by the candidate in the assessment test and meeting the notified eligibility criteria.
In case of tie in marks at selection stage, candidate scoring higher percentage in Diploma in Engineering or Technology, shall be given first preference, followed by candidate who is older in age.
f) The candidate must have an active email ID and mobile phone number which must remain valid for at least next one year.
g) All future communication with candidate will take place only through website/e-mail/SMS alerts.
h) The candidate must ascertain the correctness of all information before filling in the Online Application Form and its final submission.
i) The candidate shall be wholly/exclusively responsible for the information provided in his/her online application form.
